Cebu City, The Queen City of the South is a new place for me and I also consider it as a new life. I am a resident of a province located in Quezon. I grew up in that simple place that is different from the life in the City and I am not ashamed of it even though I am considered a probinsyano but rather I am proud of it because life in the province is very peaceful compared in the City. My eldest brother was brought by my aunt in Cebu to support his education and after graduating as a Mechanical Engineer he also brought me here in Cebu to help me finish my college education here in his alma mater, Cebu Technological University. It is my first time to be here in Cebu and I really find the place beautiful and more peaceful compared in the city of Manila but it is not that easy for me to be here at first because I am not familiar of the place and I have difficulty understanding the Visayan language. I am really very nervous most especially on the first day of school because I am not yet that familiar with the language and I have difficulty understanding the people around me and I am afraid that people will just make fun of my Tagalog diction. But there is always a first time and later on you will be able to adapt with your new surrounding. As of now I am doing my best to learn and understand the Visayan language and strive hard for me to be able to finish my studies and make my family proud. Being here in this new place is also a new life for me because it is the beginning of being able to pursue and reach my dreams in life.
